PULSE

Conduct Primary Research at a Fraction of the Cost

The PULSE survey from Thomson Reuters provides valuable insights about patients at a fraction of the cost and time commitment of conducting a free-standing study.

Thomson Reuters uses Claritas’ PRIZM®NE lifestyle segmentation to enhance the survey results, identifying people with leading chronic conditions and creating profiles based on age and where they live. Survey results provide insight into emerging trends and utilization patterns for which national use rates are not available.

Reaching out to 100,000 households each year, it is the largest, ongoing, privately funded, telephone healthcare survey in the country. PULSE has covered more than 80 healthcare utilization and behavior topics in its history and is proprietary to Thomson Reuters. The PULSE Healthcare Survey has been run continuously since 1988.

Add Custom Questions and Get Results Quickly
The multi-wave implementation system comprising of nine waves of 11,000 households each over the period of one year, allows pharmaceutical and biotechnology researchers to add questions to any one or more of the waves and receive results in about six weeks. Custom questions may be added on conditions not addressed by the current year’s survey or may be follow up questions to existing topics.

Two Ways to Take Action on Results

  • Follow up research with patients: Almost 70 percent of respondents grant permission for follow-up contact providing a deeper understanding of relevant issues.
  • Effective messaging to patients: Thomson Reuters links PULSE results with the PRIZM NE Lifestyle Segmentation System and Simmons media habits so that you can target patients with effective outreach.
